Ruemlang, Switzerland – September 9, 2024 – BIG KAISER, a leading supplier of premium high-precision tooling systems and solutions for the metalworking industries, has significantly enhanced its product availability and delivery speed across Europe, thanks to a substantial increase in manufacturing capacity.

This expansion is driven by the opening of a new state-of-the-art production facility in Japan, operated by BIG DAISHOWA Seiki Co. Ltd., BIG KAISER’s parent company. The 49,500-square-meter plant features an innovative design with an open floor plan that minimizes structural pillars, allowing for maximum flexibility in production layout and adaptation to future market needs. It is the company’s ninth production site in Japan.

“Our new facility is the world’s most advanced site for tool holder production,” said Giampaolo Roccatello, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for Europe at BIG KAISER. “With full automation from raw material cutting to warehouse delivery, this facility will significantly boost our productivity and competitiveness in the global market.”

The facility features the latest in machine tool technology and automation, including 21 multitasking machines and 23 automatic lathes. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and robotic systems streamline material handling, enhancing efficiency and ensuring consistent product quality. This advanced automation not only improves productivity but also enhances process reliability.

The initial production target is set at 20,000 tool holders per month, with the potential to double this capacity. This will elevate the total production capacity across BIG DAISHOWA’s plants to over 100,000 tool holders per month, with a focus on precision tool holders in taper sizes 30-50.

Environmental sustainability is a key focus at the new facility. A central filtration system recycles coolant throughout the production process, and advanced air purification systems capture and treat oil mist, ensuring a clean and environmentally friendly factory environment.

The facility also houses a MEGA VIP Center, which showcases BIG DAISHOWA’s latest innovations and commitment to technological advancement.
